A Quarter and a Pack of Seeds
Times are tough and many Americans find themselves in a position of not being able to afford the most basic necessities. When The Dinner Garden is mailing out seeds to food banks, our cost per seed pack is 30 cents. This includes 5 - 6 types of fruit and vegetable seeds in a waterproof pack and a business card directing the recipient to online gardening support and advice. That means for a little more than one quarter, someone can grow a garden that can produce hundreds of pounds of produce.
We have created a fund drive to enable people to donate a quarter, which will be used to grow one garden for someone now, and a pack of seeds, which will be used to help someone grow a garden in the future. We like to think of it as donating for today and tomorrow. This drive is called A Quarter and a Pack of Seeds.
